There has been fresh trouble for Salman after his irresponsible comment on a TV show where he hurt the Valmiki community.

It looks like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar won’t reconcile any time soon. Neither did Akshay’s wrap-up party of Gold see Salman in attendance, nor was Akshay present at Salman’s Tiger Zinda Hai screening. Even as Karan Johar made it to see Salman’s film — as did Shah Rukh Khan — Akshay was conspicious by his absence.

And now comes another salvo from Akshay, who has joined the ranks of people who are supporting films releasing opposite Tiger Zinda Hai. The Marathi film Deva released this Friday along with Tiger Zinda Hai.

There has also been fresh trouble for Salman after his irresponsible comment on a TV show where he hurt the Valmiki community. The Raj Thackeray-led right wing party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has been protesting against theatres not being accorded to the Marathi film Deva in favour of Tiger Zinda Hai, which has released in 4,600 screens across India.

“I am supporting Deva and they are getting screens now. It has been made by Pramod Films,” says Akshay. Incidentally, Akshay was given his first break in the film Barood (1998) by Pramod Chakravarty, whose family is producing Deva. Akshay even tweeted in favour of the film.

“I have also heard that there was a problem. PVR is giving them screens in every theatre. Marathi cinema has better content than Hindi films and I support Marathi cinema. I have also produced one Marathi film,” says Akshay.
