Relive: Sridevi's last dance with Boney Kapoor and their love story

Mumbai: It is very rare that a fairytale love story comes true and stays true. It did for Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. The couple was together, in love, for 20 whole years, till the actress breathed her last in Dubai on Sunday morning. The loss is a lot more for Boney Kapoor than what we can imagine.

The producer had left his first wife Mona Kapoor and children Arjun and Anshula Kapoor to marry his love Sridevi. But how did he even fall in love with her?

In India Today’s woman summit held in 2013, he confessed that it happened after seeing her performance in one of her Tamil films, released in the late 70s.

"That's the first time I saw her on-screen and decided she's someone I'd want in my hou... in my movies," Kapoor was heard saying, and Sridevi blushed on hearing this.

"When I met her for the first time, it was like a dream coming true. She's an introvert and doesn't communicate very easily with strangers but the few words she spoke, in broken Hindi and English, made me even more curious to know her more," he said.

In fact, Boney even went on to pay her Rs. 11 lakh only to get her to sign ‘Mr. India’, as he expressed at the venue.

In 2014, Boney Kapoor had reportedly changed his Whatsapp profile picture to a happier time, celebrating his birthday with Sridevi, and that photo has remained ever since. Here it is:

The most recent example of their love story was a video which made the rounds of the internet, where Sridevi is seen dancing alone, till Boney Kapoor turns up and there’s a warm moment between the two. See the video here:

Sridevi and the Kapoor family were in Dubai to attend Mohit Marwah’s wedding, and during the tragic incident, it is being reported that Boney and their youngest daughter Khushi Kapoor, were present and they tried to get the veteran actress hospitalized but she was declared dead on arrival.
