Bollywood buzzes about Oscar favourites

I loved the film Manchester by the Sea and I think that it’s a great film. It’s definitely the one I’m rooting for. As far as artiste is concerned, I feel Casey Affleck’s performance as Lee Chandler in Manchester by the Sea was simply beautiful.
Hansal Mehta
I haven’t seen all the films but I think Moonlight and La La Land are great. I loved both the films but I prefer Moonlight to La La Land.
Until all this noise broke out, La La Land seemed to be the clear winner. It is a lovely film. I feel too small to even comment on films like these. The level of craftsmanship, detailing and storytelling is something that we will take many more years to achieve.
These are American awards and have nothing to do with us, but we treat it like our own award. But, still, I feel that many amazing performances get overlooked. I was disappointed that Tom Hanks never got nominated for Sully. It was such a fine performance.

I haven’t seen all of them; I have missed few films but the two I liked was La La Land and Arrival so I am hoping if one of these gets an award.
La La Land is such a fresh film and it takes phenomenal technical knowhow to make such a movie. In today’s day and time to make such a film work is not easy. The actor and director have done a great job.
I know La La Land has been in the news for being nominated for the Oscars but I don’t think we should let politics come in-between the merits and demerits of a film.

They’re all amazing but Moonlight and Lion are the films I’m rooting for. They’re both profound and extremely impactful, especially today. The cinematography and script in both films are absolutely solid and the screenplay is brilliant. The performance in both films, especially Moonlight, was heartbreakingly amazing.
I think Emma Stone definitely deserves an Oscar for her role in La La Land. When it comes to best actors, I’m quite biased towards Denzel Washington. I’ve always loved his work and his performance in Fences made me cry. I think this performance surpasses all the characters he’s played so far, even Alonzo Harris from Training Day (2001).
Rajkummar Rao
I haven’t seen all the films but I really loved La La Land. I saw it twice and it is the kind of film which deserves an Oscar.
Just because it has songs in it you can’t underestimate the hard work the director and actors have put into it. I am not too much into musicals but I enjoyed this one. There is a story attached to it and there is an emotional depth to it and, as an actor, I could connect more with it because it talks about the struggle of a new actor trying to get her first break.
