Kesari fire to eat into Akshay Kumar's me time
The fire on the sets of the Karan Johar’s Kesari, directed by Anurag Singh and starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, charred everything to the ground at Wai, Maharashtra, on Monday. Nothing could be salvaged.
“There were just 10 days of shooting left for the film and the sets will have to be rebuilt again. Thankfully, these days, most films are insured and, the monetary loss can be recovered to some extent. The loss of time is, however, another story, with dates that Akshay and the rest of the cast had given for the film going to waste. Those dates will be needed to be sorted out again as Akshay is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood, with a tightly packed schedule. Akshay will now have to take time out from his personal schedule to allot to the film,” says a source.
Akshay, who is awaiting the release of 2.0 and Gold, will need to be promoting these films and also shooting for the multi-starrer Housefull 4. He also has Hera Pheri 3 on the anvil. “But, Kesari is not slated to release before Holi next year and there is adequate time. Hopefully, things will be sorted out soon,” sources say.
