Dulquer's in Karwaan because of Irrfan Khan
Southern superstar Dulquer Salmaan, who will soon be seen in Karwaan, agreed to do the film when he heard that Irrfan Khan was going to be a part of the project.
Director Akarsh Khurana reveals, “It was refreshing to see Dulquer’s approach towards this film. He said ‘Irrfan is doing this film, so I am in safe hands.’ He is not an insecure actor at all, and the script resonated with him. We’re lucky that there’s a lot of curiosity about him. I’m hoping it works out for all of us.”
“He made our lives easier by saying ‘yes’ to the film right away,” he adds.
The director was surprised to find that Dulquer, despite hailing from the south, had good command over Hindi. “He was surprisingly good! He had told me that he was good with languages and that he would rehearse his lines. But when he came for the script reading, we were stunned to hear him speaking perfectly. He has done a great job in this film,” Akarsh says.
Karwaan is about a man named Avinash who, after receiving an unidentified body instead of his father’s, ends up taking a road trip to resolve the mix-up. The film depicts his journey, the people he meets along the way, and their impact on his life. It is slated for release on August 3.
