Arjun Kapoor has wrapped up the shoot of Panipat and most of his dubbing schedules, which has been the roughest film of his career thus far.

“I have just finished the shoot and most of work on the dubbing of the film is ready. It was a great pleasure to work with the likes of Sanju sir and Mohnish ji (Bahl), Padmini ji (Kolhapure) and Kriti (Sanon). The film is about a war, when it took place, the issues during the Battle of Panipat, what where the politics around that period, and what happened when a force came together to fight the large army. The British influence on India was not big at that time and what consequences ensued due to the war is what the film’s premise is all about,” explains Arjun.

His close friend and Gunday co-star Ranveer Singh also starred as Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Bajirao Mastani along with Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. But Arjun says that this film is more about the war about the war than the personal details.

“This film is about Maratha valour. Bajirao Mastani was a character-driven film, but Panipat deals more with the valour of Maratha community and how they took on the Afghans. Ashutosh Gowariker is such a good director and he has put in some brilliant work into the film and people will take note about the efforts he has put in when the film releases on December 6,” says the actor.

The 2 States actor finds that it was perhaps the most difficult film of his career. “It is a period film and hence you have to stay authentic and still entertain. For my look in the film, I wore a hat and a cap throughout the nine months of filming. A child is born in nine months, and it is a labour of love,” he shares.
