Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover set the temperature soaring with the new condom ad. And while many believed that the ad was shot aesthetically, trollers quickly came in hordes to criticise her for the project.
Some comments included, “Don’t make P*** in the name of advertising. We understand that you not getting work but still. (sic)” Another troller commented, “#playguardcondoms are you people spreading awareness of Protected sex in our country or making a mini p*** trailer? #Should'nt be Advertised. (sic)” However, Bipasha is hardly affected by the caustic comments. When we contacted her, she said, “Trollers are there every where today. I believe we should concern ourselves only with what we want to achieve from our purpose, and be concerned with people who understand that philosophy.”
The actress also reveals she knew exactly what she was getting into when she signed up for this ad. She says, “We knew it was going to be a sexy campaign. We were very clear about our representation in the ad and what it would communicate. The commercial shows love and playfulness between two lovers. We had a wonderful team of people on the print and ad film. The aesthetics are perfect in this ad. We have received a lot of compliments.” She further added, “When we got the offer together, it seemed like the right choice since we could create awareness about using condoms for protective sex, and curbing HIV, and STDs.”
