Alia-Shah Rukh's Dear Zindagi mints 8.75 crore on first day at box office
Mumbai: 'Dear Zindagi' has dominated the headlines in the past few days with numerous of its teasers, songs, stills and interviews being all over media. The film will eventually be only judged on the basis of its collections and the film has taken a good opening at the box-office.
The film starring Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan released this Friday and has managed to do decent business at the box office on its first day, collecting Rs. 8.75 crore nett approximately, according to boxofficeindia.com
The collections are good as it is more of a niche film catering to a certain section of audiences unlike Shah Rukh’s other commercial films like ‘Chennai Expresss’ and ‘Happy New Year’.
It would now depend on how the film manages to perform on Saturday and Sunday, as the first weekend collections often decide the final verdict for the film.
The fresh pairing of Shah Rukh and Alia and interesting teasers had already raised curiosity about the film and it seemed to have worked well for the makers.
‘Dear Zindagi' also stars Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Ali Zafar and Aditya Roy Kapur among others and is directed by Gauri Shinde.
