Sukma attack: Akshay Kumar pleads fellow citizens to show solidarity with our jawans

He has time and again appealed to the government and fellow citizens to offer assistance to the families of jawans.

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar is one such actor, who goes the extra mile to provide essentials to the martyr’s family, as and when required.

The news of 25 CRPF personnel losing their lives, and six being injured in a Maoists attack in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, has certainly left many of the citizens shaken and distressed and Akshay Kumar is no exception.

The superstar has time and again appealed to the government authorities and fellow citizens to offer assistance to the families of the jawans who attained martyrdom during extremist attacks.

According to a leading daily, Akshay, in an audio message, appealed, "Our brave jawans in the CRPF martyred their lives for the sake of the nation in the recent Sukma attack. It's my heartfelt appeal to everyone that if you want to truly pay your tribute to our fallen braves, then visit the Indian government's website bharatkeveer.gov.in and make your contribution to show their families that India stands with them in solidarity in this moment of grief."

Saddened by those who create fake websites to bring in money, the actor slammed them by saying, "I'm disappointed that certain small-minded people have created fake websites and apps. I'm ashamed at such people. But I'm heartened when I see all of you come together to help the martyrs through the government's official website bharatkeveer.gov.in."

www.bharatkeveer.gov.in is the website which Akshay launched with the help of government. He made this website accessible to the common man, who wish to make monetary donations to the martyrs' families, with an upper limit of Rs 15 lacs to a single family.

Akshay had even donated 9L rupees each to the families of 12 CRPF personnel who were killed in a Naxal attack in Sukma district on March 11.
