At 65, Shakti Kapoor shows no signs of slowing down and chats candidly about his character in his next film titled Journey of Karma. The story of the film, he says, revolves around an ageing man who, owing to problems at home, starts sharing a live-in relationship with a young girl. He then shifts to a chawl.

He says, “It’s an emotional journey of the karma of a lonely man. But, yes, I was very awkward while performing intimate scenes with actress Poonam Pandey. I literally felt like a feeble and old man,” he says, adding with a guffaw, “Otherwise you guys know about my karma.”

Switching the topic to his children, he says both Shraddha and Siddhanth are doing well in their professions. “Nowadays, the younger generation is very hard-working and is able to don different hats with ease. I am happy with the way their professional journey is shaping up.”

All praises for Shraddha, the doting dad says, “I am happy that Shraddha is putting in immense hard work to portray her roles, especially for the Saina Nehwal biopic. Recently, Shraddha was in Hyderabad taking tips from Saina. My daughter is not only hard-working but very intelligent, too. She never gives up until she gets a character right.”

He continues, “It was Shraddha who pushed me into signing Journey of Karma. She told me how I could give my best to the role. I follow all her advice.”

About Shraddha’s choice of films, Shakti says, “Shraddha has been picking challenging roles. From Saina’s biopic to Batti Gul Meter Chalu to Saaho opposite Prabhas, all the roles are varied. She will soon be flying to Dubai or Abu Dhabi for Saaho.”

Lastly, on when Shraddha would be getting married, Shakti says, “Whatever Shraddha chooses is fine by us. As parents, we will support Shraddha in however she chooses to live her life.”
