Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mani Ratnam to join forces again?
It looks like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mani Ratnam are finally considering working again. Sources say that Ash had reached out to the filmmaker, who had launched her, to see if he had any good films for her to do.
Aishwarya had made her debut in Mani’s Iruvar, back in 1997, and is hoping to rekindle their professional relationship. She later came back to work with Mani 10 years later, in Guru. This time, she was accompanied by Abhishek Bachchan, and the duo ended up tying the knot three months after Mani’s movie was released.
By this time, Abhishek had already worked with Mani in Yuva, which happened to be a remake of Ratnam’s own Tamil film, Ayutha Ezhuthu.
The couple worked again three years later in the film Raavanan in Tamil, which was remade as a bilingual movie in Hindi as Raavan. Word, however, was that Amitabh Bachchan was not quite pleased with Mani and Abhishek’s last association. He had reacted to negative reviews about Abhishek’s work, and the bad performance of the movie on Bollywood box office, attributing the messy special effects to the making of the movie.
But then seven years have passed since, and a lot of water has passed under the bridge. So, will Ash and Mani work together again now? Only time will tell.
