Kriti Sanon to man up for new flick
Kriti Sanon is often portrayed to be the glam girl of Bollywood. However, the actress for the first time will be seen shedding her fashionista image for a tomboy avatar in Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Says Kriti about her new look, “It’s actually a very tomboyish character; it’s deglam. She’s not someone who’s bothered about fashion sense. So, we’ve kept the look very minimalist. Because I’m playing an almost tomboyish role in the film, I’ll be seen wearing more of checked shirts and pyjamas.”
She goes on to add that the role’s unlike one she’s ever played before. “It’s different from what I’ve done so far, and the character is very quirky, and how a small town tomboy girl would look like.”
This is also the first time Kriti will be working with a female director. Ask Kriti on her experience of working with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary and she says, “She (Ashwiny) knows exactly what she wants. She’s very particular about her scenes, but at the same time she goes with the flow. She knows small- town characters really well. I feel women kind of understand a lot of emotion that sometimes men can’t.”
The movie, which is scheduled to release on July 21, is a romantic comedy rooted in the subculture of Bareilly and also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao.
