Mumbai: The news that fans were waiting for, Priyanka Chopra’s engagement to Nick Jonas, only got partially confirmed on Friday, but made headlines nonetheless.

Her ‘Gunday’ director Ali Abbas Zafar, who was set to direct her in ‘Bharat’, tweeted about how the actress informed the team of the ‘special reason’ in the ‘Nick’ of time, and how happy they are for her new step in life.

The team might be happy for her, but the truth is they are not so happy about her decision to walk out of the period drama.

According to a report on BollywoodLife.com, Salman, who was set to reunite with her after a decade, is miffed and their equation which was on-and-off over the years, seems to have ended as the superstar is likely to cut off all ties with her.

An insider told the portal in another report, “This is highly unprofessional on the part of Priyanka Chopra. Everyone is highly upset with her as she has walked out last minute. The sets of the film had been erected and she was supposed to shoot for a Holi song soon. Now everyone is in a lurch," adding, “She had just now mended her relationship with Salman but now, after this, Salman has vowed to never work with her again.”

Sallu’s former manager Reshma Shetty has joined hands with Peecee and the insider feels, “We think she might have influenced her decision to leave the film.”

Meanwhile, Nikhil Namit, CEO of Salman’s brother-in-law and former actor Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Productions, which is backing 'Bharat', told Mid-day,"Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly."

Salman’s trusted friends, Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez are likely to step into her shoes.

A trade source told the tabloid, "Priyanka had been in talks with the Bharat team over the past two weeks about how she may have to opt out for personal reasons. Sensing Priyanka's iffy attitude, Salman initiated talks with Katrina during their Dabangg Reloaded Tour in the US. Other names — including that of Jacqueline — are also being tossed around.”

With the Salman friendship going kaput, Peecee might just say, “All is fair in love.”
