Parineeti Chopra seems to be taking her singing career seriously. The actress, who had only voiced a couple of songs for her films like—Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin from Meri Pyaari Bindu and Teri Mitti from Kesari, is now coming out with a single, following the same path as her cousin Priyanka Chopra.

Sources in the film trade inform that the work on the song is in progress. “She is doing a number which is being composed by Amaal Malik and Kumaar has written the lyrics for the song and will be produced by T-Series. T-Series had also got Sonakshi Sinha’s single out some months back called Ishqholic,” says our source.

With the launch of her new single, Parineeti will add another feather to her cap and won’t just be relying on her acting career.

“She has films like Jabariya Jodi, The Girl On The Train remake and Bhuj: The Pride of India and is in talks for one more film. If singing runs in their family, there’s nothing wrong with expressing oneself,” adds the source.

Interestingly, Priyanka Chopra also came out with her single In My City after having done a bit of singing in her debut film Thamizhan with Thalapathy Vijay. She came out later with another number Exotic featuring Pitbull, sang a lullaby in Mary Kom and also featured in a duet with Farhan Akhtar for Dil Dhadakne Do.

Another actor who tried his luck in the music industry was Farhan Akhtar. He sang a total of five songs for his debut film Rock On. Later, the actor collaborated with his Rock On 2 actress Shraddha Kapoor for the song Woh Jahaan. Shraddha had already sung earlier in Ek Villain and Baaghi.

Ranveer Singh, who has started his own record label IncInk, had rapped for the film Gullyboy, finally giving a filmy vent to his rapping after having done the same during stage shows and for a TV commercial as well.
