Fresh faces for Dhadkan 2

Dhadkan, which released back in 2000, was quite the blockbuster of the year. The movie starred Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Suneil Shetty and Mahima Chaudhary in lead roles and was directed by Dharmesh Darshan. Now, a sequel for the film is in the works, and is to be made under the banner of Venus Pictures, the name behind the original too.

Earlier, names like Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt were being talked about, as stars for the lead role in the sequel. The producers, however, rubbished the news of even meeting them. The word is that the team’s looking to get on board a brand new cast. Says a source close to the developments, “The makers have decided to launch fresh faces in the film.”

When contacted, producer Ratan Jain remained tight-lipped. “It’s too early to disclose anything at the moment,” he said, adding, “I don’t want to quote anything on the sequel. Things are in the scripting stage, so we will announce once we’re done with it.”
