Wanted Bond to get more real but the scripts would have the same outlandish scenarios: Pierce Brosnan
Mumbai: Pierce Brosnan says he was frustrated with the James Bond films at one point and wanted his character to be more real.
The 63-year-old actor says he had a tough time trying to make sense of the Ian Fleming film franchise, reported Femalefirst.
"There was a certain frustration within me as the films went on, as I could see the world happening around me and the movies...,” Brosnan said.
"I wanted Bond to get a little more gritty and real and down and dirty, but however you try to nurse it along, the scripts would come along with the same outlandish scenarios," he added.
The actor adds he was inspired by previous Bonds- Sean Connery and Roger Moore- but he did not want to copy them.
Brosnan played the suave spy in four films – ‘Goldeneye’, ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’, ‘The World is Not Enough’ and ‘Die Another Day’.
