Irrfan Khan's in no hurry to return home
Irrfan Khan, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer earlier this year, is currently in London, seeking treatment. The good news is that he’s recovering — slowly but steadily. And the bad news is that he doesn’t plan to return home any time soon.
When we can expect to see him, we ask, and Irrfan says, “I have no idea when I’m going to be back. I am not in a hurry to find out how this is going to unfold.”
With the actor away, filmmakers are having a tough time marketing and promoting his upcoming releases. His last film, the dark comedy Blackmail, had no known faces promoting it. And his next release, Karwaan, rests on the shoulders of Malayali actor Dulquer Salman, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film.
The film’s team is expected to meet next week to decide their course of action regarding promotions. Director Akarsh Khurana admits, “Promoting the film without Irrfan is a challenge, for sure. But we’re trying to figure out the best possible option.”
