I was selected to the armed services, says Mahi Gill

With all this adulation coming her way, the actress is surely elated.

With Mahi Gill’s latest film Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster 3 hitting the screen, her performance has garnered appreciation from both the audiences and the critics.

With all this adulation coming her way, the actress is surely elated. But in an interesting turn of events, Mahi reveals that she never wanted to be an actress in the first place. “My father was a government servant. My mother taught in a college. I was never inclined towards choosing this profession of acting. I was selected to join the armed forces. However, when I went to Chennai for my training, an unfortunate incident occurred and thereafter I had to discontinue with the training,” says Mahi.

Disclosing the incident at the training camp, she elaborates, “During the paragliding training at the Chennai airport I had a free fall. I was blessed and saved. After this incident my family members got damn scared,” recalls the actress.

But the fall wasn’t what got Mahi worried, perhaps it was something as innocuous as a bunch of love letters in her pocket, she reveals, “More than the fall I was worried about the five love letters, which were lying in my pocket. I had written these love letters to my then boyfriend. It would have been embarrassing if my coach had to catch me with them,” gushes Mahi.

While the actress doesn’t regret her journey into the world of cinema, Mahi believes it is destiny that brought her to the field of glitz and glamour, “Destiny has surely brought me to this glitzy world of glamour,” she signs off.
