Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who is known for being a part of some remarkable content-driven films including the Gangs of Wasseypur series, has bagged yet another interesting project — the Shakeela biopic.
Shakeela is an actress from Kerala who, after entering the adult film industry at the age of 16, distinguished herself as a popular figure in an oppressively male-dominated industry, appearing several adult films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Her biopic tells the tale of her journey to superstardom.
The film, to be directed by Indrajit Lankesh, goes on floors in April 2019 with Richa Chadda playing the lead role. And we hear that Pankaj will be seen playing a southern superstar in it.
“The makers are not keen on revealing too much about Pankaj’s character. But it will have different shades to it,” a source reveals.
