Shia LaBeouf's assault and harassment charges dropped
Mumbai: Actor Shia LaBeouf's assault and harassment charges have been dropped, one week before he was due in court.
The ‘Nymphomaniac’ actor was taken into custody by police following an alleged scuffle with a man at his ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ livestream anti-Donald Trump protest in New York in January but he will not face further action.
According to TMZ, there was not enough evidence to prove that a crime occurred when Shia faced off with another protester.
Police previously claimed that LaBeouf ripped the scarf off a 25-year-old man who interfered with the ongoing demonstration at the Museum of Moving Image, scratched his face and pushed him to the ground.
LaBeouf was due to appear in court over the alleged incident on April 7 but that has now been called off.
The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ art installation was created by LaBeouf along with artists Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner, with the intention that the live stream would run throughout President Trump's time in office.
