The singer had a lip-syncing mishap and her earpiece wasn’t working during her performance.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Mariah Carey’s lip-syncing mishap on New Year’s Eve, was due to technical issues. Carey’s back-up tracks didn’t match with what she was singing at Times Square. Her performance was also aired during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night.
“Unfortunately there was nothing she could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances,” the singer’s rep told the Associated Press.
Mariah tweeted “sh*t happens”, and wished everyone a happy New Year soon after the incident.
