On the film My Best Friend’s Wedding’s 20th anniversary that was celebrated recently, director of the movie P.J. Hogan revealed that the test audience hated the original ending that was scripted and thus, he had to re-shoot it before the official release.
The movie ends with Julia Roberts’ character receiving the punishment that she deserves as she fails to soil the wedding of her best friend but in the original film that was screened for the test audience, Julia meets a new guy and they hated it.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the director said, “They wanted her dead. They just couldn’t understand her motives.”
