With films like Warcraft, Hitch, Mission Impossible and Precious to her credit, actress Paula Patton is known for a motley of characters that she’s been able to perform with absolute ease on screen. As she now takes on the role as a co-producer of a film that discusses human trafficking, Paula talks about her journey in an interview with us.

The actress says, she takes on a project only if it moves her. “I look at the overall project and if it is a story that will captivate me, then I look if the role will challenge me and will move my soul. If the role scares me a bit, then I know it will be the most satisfying,” explains Paula.

On co-producing Traffik, a film that talks about human trafficking, she shares, “There was the fact that you could entertain, educate and move people all at the same time. Through that you can expose an issue that has been buried and possible even bring people to social action. I hope that the film opens audiences minds to issues they may not be aware of.”

Paula, who’s worked with Anil Kapoor in Mission Impossible says, “It was such a pleasure working with him. Anil has an enormous heart.”

The actress, who is also working on the series Somewhere Between says, the intention of the film industry to reflect a multicultural world is widening. “The goal is to push the envelope and explore where there is restriction, and widen that field to reflect the truth we are living in,” adds Paula, signing off.
