Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck file for divorce
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have filed for a divorce, but all seems to be amicable between the two. The couple had announced their separation in 2015, but they have officiated the divorce only now, reports TMZ.com.
The 13 going on 30 actress and the Argo actor coordinated the whole process of the case themselves, without even taking the help of a lawyer. Jennifer’s petition and Ben’s response were filed together, and they also mirror each other’s reasons for the divorce.
The duo requested for joint legal and physical custody of their three children, Violet, 11, Seraphina, eight, and Samuel, five.
A financial settlement is yet to be reached and as for spousal support, they have left it open for the judge to decide while handling the case. However, they had no prenuptial agreement, so all of their earnings during their marriage will be divided 50 per cent each, unless they agree otherwise.
It is also reported that it seems likely that a mediator would handle the case, and that it will not go to court. The divorce could become final in six months.
