Chance The Rapper wins Humanitarian Award
Chance, who also won the Best New Artist Award, was praised by Michelle Obama.
24-year-old Chance the Rapper won the Humanitarian Award at the 2017 BET Awards, making him the youngest recipient till date. He won it for “positively impacting both local and national communities”. Not only did the artiste donate $1 million to Chicago Public Schools, but also raised almost $2 million for the public schools. Chance, who also won the Best New Artist Award, was praised by Michelle Obama.
EOnline.com reported that he said, “This is wildly overwhelming. Receiving this at my age feels a little early, but my God doesn’t make mistakes and I like to think that he’s putting this pressure on me to see how I react.”
