Taylor Swift's stalker sent to psychiatric facility
Singer Taylor Swift’s alleged stalker, who followed her to her Manhattan apartment was committed to a state psychiatric facility on Monday.
According to reports in TMZ.com, Mohammed Jaffar, 29, had been found unfit to stand trial by court doctor. Prosecutors also did not object to the commitment order.
Jaffar briefly appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court, where Justice Laura Ward ordered him to be sent to the facility.
Prosecutors informed that Jaffar called Swift’s management about 60 times in a two-week period and went into the megastar’s Tribeca building on February, 6.
About a week later, he came back two days in a row to ring her doorbell.
Jaffar continued to violate orders to stay away from Swift until he was arrested on March 6.
Jaffar will remain in psychiatric custody until he is found fit to stand trial on burglary and stalking charges.
