The price of being a Princess
After much struggle, Meghan Markle has finally found her Price charming and the two are set to marry at Windsor in May 2018. However, according to reports on DailyMail.co.uk, the American actress will have to pay a huge cost to become Prince Harry’s wife. Meghan will have to leave behind her beloved rescue dog Bogart, as the pet is too old to fly overseas. The Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Labrador-shepherd cross would not be coming to UK.
The 36-year-old will also have to given up on her career as an actress so she can take up full royal commitments in Britain, bringing an end to her run as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits. Kensington Palace also confirmed that Meghan will have to give up her charity work with the UN, plus her role as patron at organisations including World Vision Canada and One Young World.
According to a few reports, the actress has already moved out of her two-bedroom home in Toronto, as she prepares to settle down with Prince Harry in his Nottingham Cottage, within the grounds of Kensington Palace.
However, all these sacrifices might not fetch Meghan the title of the “Princess”. Why? According to reports in BBC.com, by the standards of British royal protocol, the former Hollywood star lacks “royal blood” and hence may not be able to call herself “Princess Meghan”.
