Celebrities spotted enjoying festivities
Mumbai: Dahi handi celebrations on Tuesday saw participation from quite a few Hindi and Marathi film industry personalities. Newcomers: Anya Singh and Aadar Jain, who is actor Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin, attended the Vartak Nagar dahi handi celebrations in Thane as part of promoting their upcoming film, Qaidi Band. The duo struck a chord with the masses and the organisers felicitated them with Maharashtrian-style orange caps. Celebrities like Vindu Dara Singh and Naved Jaffery spoke about the festival and requested all Govindas to follow norms and stay safe while forming human pyramids.
Marathi film stars like Shruti Marathe were seen entertaining crowds by performing on hit numbers such as “Pinga Ga Pori Pinga” and “Mala Jau Dya Na Ghari” even as members of the audience too, danced to their tune, reciprocating with hoots and whistles.
Bollywood A-listers such as Jeetendra, Arjun Rampal and Neha Dhupia were seen attending various dahi handi events and entertaining crowds. They also broke a few dahi handis, as token of their participation in the festival. The actors shook a leg, interacted with the Govindas, and complimented them on their daredevilry.
