Music and mysticism
Bars in Bandra are only too familiar with musical nights. This time however, breaking away from rock, pop or jazz is a far more mellifluous sound of Sufi.
Kavya Vaidya, who recently made her debut with Shaan for Bollywood flick Jhol, along with Happydemic artiste Sumit Kumar Bhardhwaj will be crooning some soulful Sufi renditions tonight. The songstress has also been the soprano in city’s Stop Gaps choir ensemble. Hitendra Siyodiya of La Ruche was personally stirred by the voices. “I was in a restaurant in Andheri which was hosting Sufi Nights and witnessed the madness it created. I intended to replicate it for the localities in Bandra, who would not have to travel far to enjoy this genre. With our line-up of artistes, we believe these soulful Sufi nights will become a hit soon.”
