'I am ignorant of the law': SPB after Ilaiyaraaja slaps legal notice on him

He said that he received a legal notice asking him not to sing the composer's songs without his permission.

Mumbai: Legends of the music industry, singer SP Balasubhramanyam and composer Ilaiyaraaja, might have had a terrific partnership in the past, but there has been a surprising development in the equation now.

Balasubhramanyam has revealed that has served him a notice, for his singing his songs sans permission on live concerts. The actor-singer revealed that he alongside KS Chithra and his son Charan along with the organisers of his live show in the US have all been served notices by attorneys representing Raja.

SPB took to his Facebook feed to put further light into the legality and proceedings.

SPB also revealed that he has sung Raja's songs on earlier concerts but never faced a problem as this.

The duo have collaborated on innumerable hits which have gone on to have a cult following of their own.

Ilayaraja is yet to comment on the controversy.
