Rushad Rana is satisfied with his TV roles

The actor will be seen as Raveena Tandon's husband, and is quite excited to bag a part opposite the '90s diva.

Even though he has an impressive body of work, Rushad Rana seems to be getting only filler roles on television these days. In his recent show, Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, he plays a father to a child, who ended up having more screen space than the actor himself. “I’m not getting lead roles on TV, but whatever roles I’m doing are impactful as well as performance oriented,” a defensive Rushad says. “As far as what’s stopping me from getting lead parts is concerned, I guess it’s also because the younger lot has taken over the lead roles. But whatever roles I am getting are very satisfying. I would rather do performance-oriented parts than just stand in the background and do nothing, and tell people I am the one of the leads.”

The actor, however, has had a presence on the big screen too. “I’ve done two very good roles in films. One was 8x10 Tasveer, opposite Akshay Kumar, the main negative part, as well as the lead role in Yeh Faasley. Unforunately, both films didn’t do well, and that was quite a setback for me. Now, hopefully, with Maatr, I hope things will change for me.”

The actor will be seen as Raveena Tandon’s husband, and is quite excited to bag a part opposite the ’90s diva. “I’m not a physically abusive husband in the film, thankfully. But yes, I was very nervous being opposite Raveena. But she put me at ease right from the first shot,” he says.
