Technik films and director Omar Adnan creativity is delight to watch

Today, he's known for creating one of the most-viewed BMW M car video on the Internet.

Omar Adnan was 18 when his debut short film, Closure, was hand-picked to be an Official Selection at EIFF, one of 66 Oscar-qualifying film festivals in the world. Beginners luck? Not quite. Adnan’s always had a “knack” for film-making. He spent his childhood summers recreating scenes from his favourite movies like the Dark knight, the Hurt Locker, and Sean of the Dead. Practice makes perfect, isn’t that right?

“It was always something I had an eye for, probably one of the only things that I was actually good at,” Adnan says, laughing.
Today, he’s known for creating one of the most-viewed BMW M car video on the Internet. It features over one million dollars worth of BMW M cars; all different makes, models, and colors.

The video first caught the eye of BMW UAE on Instagram, who reposted the video to their page, which has over 679,000 followers worldwide. Full Throttle and Dark Side picked up the video shortly after, launching it to the viral hit that it is today.

Following the success of the video, Adnan launched Technik Films and The Technik Media Group, a film production-house and a creative-agency centred around servicing the automotive industry. “It was the perfect marriage of my two biggest passions,” Adnan relays.

The idea was to provide dealerships and auto giants with strategies and content that were in-line with current market trends, not the out-dated tactics so many dealerships still hang on to. It wasn’t long before a Director of Marketing at one of Canada’s leading auto groups noticed Adnan and his team’s work; they had their big break. Soon after, Adnan had a thriving creative agency, but more importantly, an outlet to channel his creativity and passion.

The success of his business opened up many opportunities for Adnan in the commercial and film industry. His favourite projects, however, are still the passion projects he creates. Recently, Adnan worked with actor Brendan Heard on a web series that features different comedy sketches every week. He also shares pieces of content to his Instagram page (@omaradnann).

His ultimate dream remains directing a feature film one day. “It would be a dream come true”, Adnan smiles.
