Karan Mehra expected Bigg Boss 10 elimination
Given his fame and popularity, Bigg Boss 10’s contestant Karan Mehra’s eviction may have come as a shock to fans, but the actor insists he expected it. Opening up about the eviction, Karan says, “The creatives had been giving me clear hints saying ‘you are not doing anything.’ So, honestly, I’m not surprised. I wanted to play on my condition and I paid the price for being myself. I never could have created a noise or walked into a fight and got involved in the drama, just to be in the rat race. For me, my dignity was more important than staying inside.”
The actor’s stint painted him more as a peacemaker and not a troublemaker. “Playing the peacemaker definitely went against me,” Karan admits. “I took a stand whenever the situation demanded. I supported Lopa (Raut) when she needed me. I was always protective about Rohan (Mehra) but I guess that was not enough. I could not get myself into silly arguments every now and then to give ratings to the channel. So I am glad I am out, but at the same time I am disappointed also as the fans that voted for me wanted me to stay longer. Sadly, it’s 50 per cent voting and 50 per cent content that decides a contestant’s fate. I have no regrets and I’m going with my head held high.”
Ask him about his former co-star, Hina Khan’s exit from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Karan, who shared icy vibes with her, says, “I’m not surprised at all. I saw it coming long back. She never interfered in my work. I left the show in a dignified manner. I don’t want to comment on her equation with others.”
