Real priests for reel wedding ceremony

Chandra Nandni is gearing up for a larger than life wedding sequence of protagonists Chandragupt (Rajat Tokas) and Nandni (Shweta Basu Prasad). Word is that perfectionist producer Ekta Kapoor has turned creative mastermind to turn this into a majestic affair.

Adding yet another feature to the grand preparation underway, the czarina is roping in real pandits to perform Chandra and Nandni’s wedding rituals. The mantras mouthed by the real priests would give impeccable authenticity to the sequence, she believes. A source says, “The attempt is to recreate the Mauryan era, so that the audiences can get a glimpse of the grandeur that existed back then. Every minute detail is being monitored, and nothing’s being processed till it’s approved by Ekta herself. This wedding will be a major highpoint for the show. Getting the real pandits is an effort to make the whole sequence as real as possible.”
