TV stars usher in the Yuletide spirit

Christmas at our home is a big occasion because my husband was born on December 25: Sheeba

My fondest Christmas memory is from last year. My daughter and I had gone to attend the Christmas carnival and we had a blast from enjoying rides to playing games and binging on golgappas. We didn’t leave anything and by the end of it all, she was super exhausted (in the picture). This year I’ll be shooting but will take out time for Christmas dinner and celebrations. X-mas has been special for me as I’ve studied in a convent school and Christmas used to be a big thing there. I still remember going for the fete and listening to carols in school. I make sure that my daughter also experiences the same joy.

Christmas at our home is a big occasion because my husband was born on December 25. The whole day we stay in a party mood. However, one of my best Christmas, was a white one we had in New York, when we woke up and found the entire city covered in an ethereal soft snow.

The Christmas tree got ready at our place on December 1 and we celebrate the festival all through the month. On December 24-25, we visit Church and then have rum cakes. In the evening, we unwrap the gifts and everyone heads out for dinner. One one occasion, my daughter when she was three years old wanted to click a picture with the Santa and the guy dressed as Santa wanted a picture with me. It was cute moment!

Usually I spend Christmas with family and friends and I really value the time spent with them but this Christmas is extra special as my film Tiger Zinda Hai released this week. I intend to visit a church and go to a friend’s place who puts a Christmas tree at home.

Instead for asking something from Santa, I prefer being someone’s Santa. It’s a thing I do every Christmas and Diwali. I gift something to people who can’t afford the luxuries that we can. Giving anything from sweets to clothing has been something I have been doing since I was young.

About three years back, I attended the mass at Mount Mary Church in Mumbai. I liked the atmosphere and vibes of the festival so much there. Since then, every year I have made a point to go to the church on Christmas eve. The positivity of the festival peps up my mood and paves way for a great New Year.

If not shooting on Christmas then I prefer to celebrate it with my family and close friends. My most memorable Christmas was when I was a kid and my father, like a Santa, gifted me a bicycle.
