Even after doing two shows as the lead, Laksh Lawani has no problem playing second fiddle to Arjun Bijlani in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil. With humility, he explains, “Arjun has been part of the industry for the last 15 years whereas I have just begun. If I start competing with him, I will be making the biggest fool of myself. How is the comparison even plausible?”

On a serious note, he adds it’s with himself that he should be competing fiercely. However, in hindsight, he is content with the position he’s in as an actor. “My graph has been pretty decent.  I’m happy with that. Three years back, I was just an ordinary Delhi guy who wasn’t even earning.” Speaking of his idea of growth and the recent success he’s achieved, he adds, “Today I am a 20-year-old guy who has made a name for himself, owns a house and has car in a city like Mumbai. Now that is growth for me. I cannot complain to anyone or get insecure that I am not the main guy in the show. That will be unfair. Arjun and Drashti are my seniors and I have great respect for them.”

He further explains that he does not believe in the idea of lead and side-kick roles. “I don’t believe in the concept of lead or parallel lead. I believe the character you play should be strong enough.” He seems convinced with the role. “Most reviews I have got so far say my character is being showcased as stronger than Arjun. Nobody is saying he has more screen space than me,” Laksh concludes.
