Crimped hair seems to be gaining new life with designers pushing it as a hair trend for the past few seasons and even celebrities giving the throwback look a try. Crimped hair which was a mainstay in the mid-eighties, with the resurgence of the 80s’ fashion, is today a haute hair style to flaunt.
But if you still aren’t game to take out your crimping iron then let me tell you a little secret — it’s the age of hair that’s not entirely crimped or semi-crimped hairdos. And you have plenty of celebs to look up to for inspiration. These days hair is crimped in sections and layers to create a soft yet dual texture finish. This prevents the hair from looking limp and makes a voluminous statement. You can also crimp hair from the roots leaving it pushed back to add volume. For a bold and avant-garde look, you can opt for a global crimp, but avoid it if you have naturally wavy and voluminous hair.
