The current trend that’s been gaining popularity in the hairstyling department and especially when it comes to braiding is a natural and simple version — twisted braids.

This version of the old-school braid is much sleeker, and dare we say, finer. The simplicity of the twisted braid is that the braiding is done with the hair parted into two sections, not three as in a conventional braid. The base can be made at the back of the neck or above the head. Everything other than that is a matter of taste.

It’s not hard to achieve the look at all. All you have to do is secure a pony and divide the tail into three equal sections, and lacquer with lots of hairspray before braiding to eliminate any fuzz. For the rope braid option, separate tail into two sections and twist each strand around your fingers in a counter-clockwise direction. Too much twisting for you to handle Keep the pony as it is and do a crown braid instead. Part hair at the side and French braid down across the forehead, letting a few strands fall out for added texture. Voila!
