Manish Malhotra kickstarted Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer-Resort 2016 on Wednesday evening with much aplomb. Titled Elements, his collection was inspired from the elements of nature — fire, water, earth and wind.
The designs included off shoulder tops, harem pants, embellished gowns, lehengas with trails, structured tops and blouses in earthy tones like baby pink, powder blue, light green and orange. The designer made use of organza, tussar and crepe to give the creations a “dreamy allure”. There was also a capsule collection for the modern groom — sharp jackets and kurtas, tailored pants and churidars in shades of blue and ivory were showcased for men.
Bollywood stars Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez turned showstoppers for the event. Jacqueline opted for a pastel pink gown and sheer cape while Arjun donned a midnight blue kurta and pants.
