It is a fact that our hair takes the biggest hit during the monsoon season. Here are some hair hacks that one can apply to maintain the health of one’s precious mane:

It starts in the shower The cuticle layer which is the outer layer of your hair is the key to keeping moisture out and in, which will prevent the frizz and dehydration. A lot of people still skip using a conditioner in the hope to have fuller hair, which will leave your hair dry and prone to frizz and breakage.

Don’t touch The trick is not to touch your hair as much as possible. I’m often surprised when people shake their hair like a hall carpet after a dust storm and then wonder why it’s frizzy. Don’t flip your hair upside down and wrap it in a towel, this is creating frizz. Pat dry or blot dry your hair, never shake, toss it or start flipping this way and that.

Wet to dry and cool If your hair happens to get wet, or you get caught in the rain, try and get it dry as soon as possible. Aim to blow dry it as soon as possible, using the cold button to make sure the hair is cooled down, this closes the cuticle, hence helping to repel moisture in and out!

Pretty in Silk Get yourself a silk scarf and wrap your hair in it before going to bed.
