Actress Chloë Grace Moretz took to Twitter on Sunday night to express her displeasure at the way the Miss Universe pageant is celebrated, saying that the host — Steve Harvey — kept “overtly sexualising” the contestants.
“Miss Universe is still judging women walking around in bathing suits. If it’s based on confidence, why are we zooming in on their bodies ” Chloë asked on Twitter, and later added, “It’s a new time... I think it’s time we cut the swimsuit section from Miss Universe.”
She also added that she would love to watch a pageant “based on interviews and public speaking and philanthropic tenacity”.
