Blurry Vision thwarted by Divya Reddy's Social Clarity in Uppal
The Divya Reddy Foundation conducted a free Eye camp at GHMC community Hall, Uppal, Telangana with the ideology that post Covid lot of people have been complaining of multiple side-effects of which vision being affected was one of the most common. It’s not just been blurred vision but a lot of people have been facing severe headaches as well.
This Eye camp was held through Divya Reddy foundation which is a socio cause initiative helmed by fashion designer turned social activist Divya Reddy Salla. It was conducted for all adults from marginalised families who even find it difficult to afford a pair of spectacles. Post the Eye camp everyone who was recommended prescribed glasses were given free spectacles, and urgent cataract surgeries are also sponsored by the foundation for the elderly aged people.
In a society like India where grandparents and parents predominantly sacrifice their basic needs for their offspring, Divya Reddy Foundation has stepped in to take care of such people who sacrifice their well being for their loved ones. Hailing from extremely marginalised poor economic background families they have been in a very unfortunate situation to not be able to afford major surgeries such as cataract. Divya Reddy has promised to stand by such helpless people to help them regain their eye sight.
It was attended by more than 200 local women self-help groups and their families. A complete large scale medical camp has also been announced by the foundation in the month of November upon large scale requests from the people of Uppal.
