Holidays seem a lost dream these days amidst lockdown due to Covid-19. Summer city breaks were always waited with immense excitement for the vacation times yet this year it's all different and going on vacation seems a farthing.

When will this lockdown end? When can we go for a vacation? Can I travel abroad? When will airports open? Can I go on a cruise? Are aeroplanes safe to travel?

And there is an endless list of such questions rattling in our minds. The only answer is to wait since everything is uncertain but one thing certain is that the world would be a different place post-pandemic and so would are vacations be. Everyone needs to be extra careful and follow all safety measures because we need to have an enjoyable and safe vacation.

Many countries around the world continue to remain in the situation of lockdown due to a high number of cases being reported while some countries have given certain relaxations and resumed flights.

France is under lockdown with many restrictions regarding travel and domestic tourism looking unlikely this summer. While Portugal didn’t report a high number of cases, but tourism seems to have gone for a toss there too.

On the other hand, Cyprus hopes to welcome tourists by June from countries like UK and UAE would also entertain tourist from July. Hotels are slashing prices by 60 per cent and bringing out exciting offers to encourage tourists to return, but tourists fear to go away from their homes due to the fear of the virus.

A post-pandemic vacation would have a strange environment including masks, proper sanitization and temperature checks at airports and some public spots. News about the virus is changing by the day, and everyone has a different reaction to all of it. There are fewer and fewer places now where there aren’t reported cases.

But a vacation spent in the fear would be worthless since vacations are for relaxation and definitely not stress. There is no clear idea of how long people will be caged, but one thing we can be sure of is that, when finally, we start to travel again, the world will be a different place.
