Santanu Bhattacherjee : Impeccable leadership skillset accounts for holistic growth
Whether you are in college or entering the corporate world, there will be situations that require you to step up as a leader. Even outside of your career, there are moments in life where you might be depending on your leadership skills to uplift those around you. Someone who knows how and when to channelize their inner leader is exactly the one who becomes the torchbearer in times of need. One such person who has leadership qualities imbibed in his exhilarating personality is Santanu Bhattacherjee, the Senior Manager of CRM of a reputed Product Based Company.
Keeping leadership as the highest standard of growth, Santanu emphasizes that people need to understand how important it is to be growing as a leader today to take charge of the direction your life is headed. Ever since his early teenage years, he has been actively participating in school events and in fact, led them with complete dedication. Henceforth, being a leader has always been inherent in his persona. According to him, every time he takes on a project, he sees it from a perspective of learning new things. The feeling of accomplishing it successfully always drives him to do better and has been the constant motivation to be a leader.
Talking about if he follows a particular method of being a leader, Santanu says, “I don't follow a particular style but rather tune it as per necessity. If the situation demands me to be in front and lead I do that and if it asks me to stay behind and encourage others to lead then I follow that.” Whatever may be your leadership style, autocratic, servant, or diplomatic, one thing that remains constant is how efficacious you are to take your team along, being their guiding light to always do better.
Santanu started his journey as an inspiring leader in 2013 and has never looked back ever since. To constantly enhance his skill set, he spends a good amount of time reading books on leadership and imbibes the best of all in himself. Instigated by the same, Santanu Bhattacherjee also wrote his own book, titled, ‘The Leadership Chronicle’. Being his dream project, Santanu has worked on it with all his dedication and precision. A business fiction, the book talks about the different worlds of leadership, management, entrepreneurship, and aspects of running a business successfully. He has also brought the importance of being a visionary, conducting effective negotiation, delegation vs micromanagement, women empowerment in leadership, and many more such bold aspects into the limelight.
With the world constantly equipping technology in its processes, and people adopting the work-from-home culture as their new normal, it has effectively created opportunities for leaders to take hold of completing the digitization of their companies, making them walk hand-in-hand with this paradigm shift.
Talking about if the WFH culture has in some way impacted the facets of leadership on his journey, he says, "It for certain has been a roadblock in our mutual progress as I am unable to understand the body language of the person whom I am interacting with. Despite that, over the whole year, I sharpened my listening skills so that WFH in no way comes in between the effective understanding of the communicators."
Santanu's family has been his constant motivator. His wife always encourages him to be a better version of himself climbing the corporate ladder successfully. Advising young minds to tread on a similar path, he has always laid a strong emphasis on constantly evolving, learning, improvising, and manifesting the growth of your life by being your own leader.
