Success stories that talk about someone that went from having nothing to everything are very inspiring. While people admire or envy these stories, many fail to recognize that these people have their fair share of challenges. They need to go through a lot before they hit the jackpot of success.

Also, the benchmark of success is different for different people. Take actor Armaan Malik for instance. He started his journey on TikTok and received a lot of love in his social media influencer career. He also worked on some well-paid branding assignments. While Armaan was happy and grateful for the love and attention, he didn’t regard it as success. This is because there were always negative comments and nagging from friends and family. He was continually told that anyone can get followers on TikTok and this is not a career. Armaan’s parents supported him but he wanted to make them proud.

Today Armaan has made them proud and ecstatic about what he has achieved in a short span. Armaan has signed a contract for a role in an upcoming web series titled “A Trip”. People can see the series on one of the OTT platforms where it will be launched in a few months. We asked Armaan about his journey and he opened up about the challenges he faced. Armaan admits that the primary challenge was maintaining discipline and staying consistent in posting content. He says that it is very easy to take all the appreciation for granted and slow down. He talks about phases when he lost discipline but then geared back up to dedicate his time to content creation.

Armaan also told us that negative comments online and offline are great deterrents and one has to grow a thick skin. He says that negative comments give you a lot of self-doubts and demotivate you completely. According to Armaan, ignoring them is the best option. He further talked more about self-doubt and said that the worst mistake we do is to compare with others and feel demotivated. “All of us are at different stages and everyone began with zero followers once, just trust the process and keep hustling”, said Armaan.

Armaan also mentions slow results as one of the demotivating factors. He recalls that when he had just begun, he wasn’t getting the expected response. It was this time that other peers from school and college had stable jobs and peer pressure was troubling him. Once Armaan’s videos started getting viral and he was getting love, TikTok got banned and he again started facing uncertainty. Then Armaan started posting videos to his Instagram account. He got some motivation once he started getting branding assignments and his music videos ‘machis’ and ‘yamraj’ got hit. However, online flak and demotivating comments were still there. This time Armaan ignored them completely. He now has 466k followers on Instagram and 2.91 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

It is a big thing for a boy from a simple family to get a role in a web series, but Armaan has done it. His story is an inspiration to people. Everyone faces roadblocks but with persistence, we can cross them easily. We wish Armaan luck in his future.Instagram – Armaan Malik
