Indian Thought Leaders Navigate Global Challenges at World Policy Conference
Global thought leaders and policy shapers from various countries converged at the prestigious World Policy Conference to deliberate and discuss various matters of global importance, ranging from World Economy, AI and Global Health to Food Security, Ukraine War, and Crises in the Middle East. Amongst the four delegates from India in attendance were Former Governor of West Bengal and NSA Mr. M.K. Narayanan and social entrepreneur Mr. Manu Mallikarjun who is son of former union minister and Telangana movement leader Dr. Mallikarjun.
Guest speakers included distinguished dignitaries such as Ms. Mariam Al-Mheiri (Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE), Mr. Dmytro Kuleba (Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ukraine), Jean-Claude Trichet (Former President of the European Central Bank), Dr. Bogdan Klich (Senator and former Minister of Defence, Poland) and Dr. John Lipsky (Senior Fellow of the Foreign Policy Institute at John Hopkins University, SAIS).
During Mr. M.K. Narayanan's decades-long service to the nation, he was also part of the administration of Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao in whose cabinet Dr. Mallikarjun had served as well, as Minister of State for Defence and Railways. Whereas Mr. Narayanan has extensive experience and explemplary credentials in Indian diplomacy and security, Mr. Manu Mallikarjun contributed perspectives drawn from his private sector experience that he has garnered subsequent to his Engineering studies and Master's degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS), USA. Mr. Narendra Taneja (Founder President, World Energy Policy Summit) and Mr. Tobby Simon (Founder President, Synergia Foundation), both from India, also graced the event and participated in the panels to share their expertise on matters concerning Energy Policy, challenges posed by AI and other subjects of global concern.
