Acting upon a complaint, the Jaipur police on Thursday busted an inter-state gang, which duped more than 100 aspiring medical students of nearly '10 crore in the name of admission to prestigious medical and dental colleges of the country. Three gang members, Naseem Ahmed, Sanjeev and Ranjan, have been arrested.

According to the police, the gang was active in Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and some other states. During the interrogation, they reportedly confessed duping more than 100 students for an estimated '10 crore. They used to charge '30-35 lakh per student.

Interestingly, during interrogation, the accused told the police that in some cases, they were successful in securing admission for the candidates.

They have given information to the police about these students and some other key persons. The police have also seized important documents related to 12 top medical institutions in the country.

They have confessed to the police that earlier, the gang was operating from Delhi by the name of Destiny Associate Private Limited.

After achieving success in Delhi and national capital region, they decided to extend the operation and hired a place in Triveni Nagar area.

Talking about the gang’s modus operandi, the police said that the gang member used to collect record of candidates from data centres through which they had applied for admission in medical and dental colleges. They said to have collected record of nearly 1.5 lakh students. After collecting information they used to approach candidates and their parents for getting admission.
