5-time Congress MLA attacks strategist for ‘sidelining’ him
The Congress yatras are criss-crossing the poll- going state of Uttar Pradesh. The Congress has been the first among the party blocks to get battle ready. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is in Uttar Pradesh. There are talks to involve Priyanka Gandhi in the last stages of the campaign. Now, over a month into the campaign, there seems to be a fly in the ointment for the Congress.
Pradeep Mathur, leader of the Congress legislature party in Uttar Pradesh and a five-term MLA from Mathura, is unhappy. He has shot off a missive to the general secretary in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad complaining that he along with many other Congressmen are being sidelined by the organisers of the campaign. Also, he has sought time from Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi.
This time, the attack is on the Congress strategist Prashant Kishor. Mathur claims that many ticket hopefuls and veteran Congressmen are not being involved in the Deoria to Delhi Yatra of the Congress vice-president. Neither are they being called to important meetings with regard to the Uttar Pradesh election strategy. The problem which Mr Mathur fears and has brought to the notice of the incharge is that Prashant Kishor under the garb of giving tickets to brahmins wants to cut his ticket.
