MLA accused of threatening rape victim

Lucknow: A gangrape victim in Saharanpur district, has accused a Samajwadi Party MLA of intimidating her and forcing her to withdraw her complaint. The audio recording of the conversation with the SP MLA has now gone viral on the social media.

Talking to reporters on Sunday, the victim’s father said that the SP MLA Nahid Hasan had called them and asked the girl to withdraw her complaint and reach the compromise with the accused persons. He also threatened them with dire consequences and said that he would implicate them in false cases.

The rape victim’s family has handed over the audio clip of the MLA to the local police and the SSP Upendra Agarwal has ordered a probe into the allegations.

The family has also sought security and action against the MLA.

Meanwhile, the MLA has denied the allegations.
