Masood Azhar's ban huge win, but Opposition reluctant to celebrate
New Delhi: Terming designation of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the UN as a “huge diplomacy” of India and its diplomacy, the BJP on Thursday rejected suggestions that the Pulwama terror attack was delinked in the JeM chief’s listing by asserting that the terror attack on the CRPF convoy played a “big role” in Azhar’s getting the global terrorist tag.
Hailing the “untiring efforts” by the PM in isolating Pakistan and designating Azhar as a global terrorist, the BJP said nationalism has always been its core plank. The ruling party alleged that the Opposition is reluctant to celebrate UN action against Azhar as it may have to pay political price.
“It’s a huge victory... It’s a matter of pride and honour for every Indian,” said Union minister Arun Jaitley.
